The ebooks@cambridge Advisory Group are running 2 ebooks sessions for librarians, which are taking place in late September in the Freshfields IT Training Room in the Law Faculty on the Sidgwick Site.
Wednesday 25th September, 10.30 – 12.30 – Hands-on session
Led by Catherine Reid and Jayne Kelly
This is a hands-on session which will include a presentation on the basics of how to search for and access titles from our ebooks collection, and also news of new services and developments. The second half of the session will offer a chance for attendees to have a go at finding and accessing ebooks themselves. There will be a workbook which attendees can take away if they wish. This is particularly suitable for library staff who are new to the University of Cambridge or those who want to refresh their knowledge of ebooks.
This hands-on session is open to 24 people and places need to be booked via the Librarians In Training booking site. Please book before the 22nd September.
Thursday 26th September, 12.00 – 14.00 – Drop-in session
This informal session does not include a presentation and is open to all library staff to turn up with their ebook questions. Many of you may have been to a previous hands-on session and already know the ebook basics and want to find out about a specific issue. Catherine Reid, Jayne Kelly, and other ebook experts will be on hand to try and answer your questions.
You can turn up at any point during the 2 hours, and feel free to bring any mobile devices you wish to access or have a go at downloading ebooks onto. Please ensure any mobile devices are set up for using eduroam. You do not need to book for this drop-in session.
We look forward to seeing you!
